Level3 certified - and going strong!

In February, Viasit achieved Level3 certification for the first time, reaching yet another milestone for sustainable action and sustainably produced office furniture on the way to becoming a 100% Climate Neutral company.

Viasit achieves LEVEL3 Certified sustainability

Since 2021, has held  "LEVEL" certification from the FEMB (European Office Furniture Federation) for sustainably manufactured office furniture. At the last audit in February, we achieved the very highest band - LEVEL3. 

LEVEL certification requires assessment of several product lines, the company and its suppliers for sustainable action in the areas of energy, atmosphere, human and ecosystem health, and social responsibility.

Sustainability is our path 

The climate-neutral Drumback "Creation" office chair from Viasit - this is the outward sign Viasit’s  resolute and continuous path for more than 15 years. A path that is all about making our products, processes and value chains ever more sustainable. At present, sustainability primarily means minimising greenhouse gas emissions in order to counteract the threatening progress of climate change. 

We are constantly improving our environmental performance by continuously monitoring, evaluating and, if possible, reducing the environmentally relevant impacts of our activities. An important success factor on this path is our employees, who bring these requirements of the management systems to our everyday life.
We partner with a technology consulting firm that helps us calculate our carbon footprint and take action to reduce it over time.

We have set ourselves the goal of becoming carbon neutral as a whole company by 2027. As a guideline on this path, we have adopted our climate strategy with corresponding savings targets. It is our goal to optimise our product portfolio and our processes with a view to steadily decreasing CO2 emissions.

We make our efforts transparent and comprehensible to stakeholders and the public at all times. In the early days we set our course by introducing the ISO 14001 environmental management system in 1996. We continued in 2018 when we committed ourselves to far-reaching environmental goals with the introduction of EMAS, which we were also able to implement to a large extent. These goals include, for example, the exclusive use of green electricity and a 100% separate waste collection rate.

What environmental credentials do our products have?

In order to make the sustainability balance of our products transparent to consumers and buyers at a glance, we list the most important data on our website, directly on each individual product page. In this way, sustainability can be included as a part of the decision process and criteria when selecting office furniture.

Viasit introduced its sustainability report according to GRI

In our new sustainability report, which was available for the first time in September 2022 we shared amongst other things, a calculation of the company's carbon footprint according to the GHG protocol and published detailed information on how we assume sustainable responsibility towards our employees and the local community. In future this report will be prepared regularly according to the criteria of the international reporting standard GRI ("Global Reporting Initiative"), the most widely used guidelines for corporate sustainability reports worldwide. This will make our sustainability efforts transparent and easier to compare with those of other companies.
